DISA
The Mobility Extensions feature can be enhanced by adding the DISA (Direct Inward System Access) feature. This allows authorised callers to key in a unique PIN and gain an internal dial tone as if they had simply lifted the receiver of an internal handset. All calls made from this point to outside numbers, look as if they are coming from your company, thus enabling both massive cost savings, for example calling international numbers from a mobile phone, and adding additional security and privacy by all calls being logged by vPBX and hiding the original callers number.
To reach users with VoIP phones, DID numbers are assigned to a communications gateway connected by a trunk to the public switched telephone network (PSTN) and the VoIP network. The gateway routes and translates calls between the two networks for the VoIP user. Calls originating in the VoIP network will appear to users on the PSTN as originating from one of the assigned DID numbers.
