Auto Attendant

The optional Auto Attendant and Voicemail features in vPBX are implemented and enabled on demand as and when your business needs demand. The Auto Attendant automatically answers incoming calls and plays the company's recorded announcements to the caller. Unlimited announcements can be recorded to form multi level audio menus directing the caller to an appropriate answer point, interpreting caller-dialled inputs.

An Auto Attendant will often include a directory which will allow a caller to dial by name in order to find user on a system. There is no standard format to these directories, and they can use combinations of first name, last name, or both.

The following lists common routing steps that are components of an automated attendant:

  • Transfer to Extension
  • Transfer to Voicemail
  • Play Message (i.e. "our address is ..." or advertise a promotion or special offer)
  • Go To a Sub Menu
  • Repeat Choices Attendant
